AOEL-247

Anomalous Object/Entity/Location Number: AOEL-247

Difficulty of Containment: Medium

Danger Level: Low

Containment Protocol: Discouragement of AOEL-247 is to be achieved by two security personnel stationed in an inconspicuous vehicle down the road from any potential AOEL-247-1 instance. This surveillance is to be arranged in 12-hour shifts. Any AOEL-247-2 instance is to be approached on sight and urged away from the AOEL-247-1 instance under the guise of the two personnel being realtors. AOEL-247-2 instances are to be motivated by threats of police involvement if they are not responsive to the personnel's requests to abide by appointment only.

The likely presence of -2 instances in known -1 instances is not to be uncovered or brought to the attention of the house's residents unless independent discovery is impending or inevitable. Any AOEL-247-1 instance discovered housing AOEL-247-2 instances is to be rid of the -2 instances under the guise of a hazardous mold outbreak. Any witnesses to -2 instances are to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and according to the discretion of the current overseeing specialist.

Anomaly Description: AOEL-247 is a phenomenon affecting the sale of houses in upper-middle class suburban areas. AOEL-247 takes place after a house is placed on the market, usually after announcement via social media. Houses affected by AOEL-247 are given the "-1" designation.

AOEL-247-2 instances are edentulous1 human individuals who approach AOEL-247-1 instances. They invariably do this outside of appointment or designated hours for showings or open houses and by no observed means other than on foot. AOEL-247-2 instances request politely after ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door to view the exterior of the AOEL-247-1 instance as an interested buyer. The -2 instance will then circle the house observing it, even if permission is denied. Unless thoroughly observed and herded off of the property, AOEL-247-2 instances will seemingly vanish, typically after rounding a corner of the house.

As discovered via review of sold homes that later undergo major structural renovations, AOEL-247-1 instances reliably feature anomalously preserved cadavers between their wall studs and just beneath the drywall. The lack of decomposition makes detection of these cadavers difficult in usual circumstances, and can require some destruction of the property to confirm. All observed cadavers are edentulous, and so have not merited a new sub-designation.
